I Teach
I’m a qualified English Teacher and 1:1 tutor. I have been teaching successfully for seven years and for five years as a professional tutor. I have a first class honours degree in English from the University of Exeter and a PGCE from the University of Plymouth and I love sharing my knowledge and passion for my subject. From Key Stage 3 up to GCSE and A’ Level and beyond, my aim is to help support my students in overcoming any obstacles and fears about English and help tackle their low self-belief and esteem through patient guidance, encouragement and positive constructive feedback. In short, my goal is to support my students in reaching their goals and achieving their potential.
I Tutor
At reasonable rates I can offer tailored English tuition and personalised learning plans to suit a student needs. I have taught people from a variety of different backgrounds, abilities and experience, and specialise in final year GCSE and A’ Level English Language & Literature skills, offering key exam strategies and preparation for AQA, OCR, Edexcel & iGCSE exam boards. I love English as a subject and I am keen to make a tutoring session with me a rewarding and positive experience. My approach is student-centred, where learning is enjoyable as well as a steady progression towards improvement. My aim is to help my students gain confidence and to achieve success.
I Write
I am a published author and have a Masters Degree in Creative Writing. I will soon be offering creative writing workshops and writing for wellbeing courses on this site.
My vision in life is to help others overcome their fears and doubts and help free their creative expression. I believe creativity isn’t just the preserve of the artist. It’s for everyone. We can use creativity as a method for self-development, allowing us to think differently and to find solutions to our problems.
